Health and safety
You're driving a powerful machine over rough sand, with hard bumps and steep slopes, and the shared 4x4 adds dune bashing on the way in. Skip it if you're pregnant, have back or neck problems, have had recent surgery or get motion sick, and tell us about any other health worry before you book. Wear closed shoes. Visit Dubai, the city's tourism site, advises never driving into the desert alone.
Cancellation and changes
Cancel at least 24 hours before the start and you get a full refund, back on your card in 5 to 7 working days. After that, or if you don't show up, there's no refund. If the weather turns bad, we offer you a new date.
Can I rent a dune buggy in Dubai and drive it on my own?
Not on your own. Every buggy follows a guide, and you can't take one into the desert alone. You still get your own buggy and do all the driving for the time you book. That's what buggy rental means with us.
Is the price per person or per buggy?
Per buggy. One price covers everyone in it, so two people in a 2-seat buggy pay the same as one. It also covers the guide, a safety briefing, a helmet where the buggy needs one, staff photos and the shared 4x4 pickup with dune bashing. A 4-seat buggy, the Can-Am or 60 minutes costs more. Bigger groups add more buggies.
What time can we drive?
Any time from 6 AM to 6 PM. Pick your start time when you book, and we confirm your pickup time on WhatsApp. A buggy ride added to a safari happens during that safari instead, and your return time stays the same.
How long do I actually drive?
For the full 30 or 60 minutes you book. Pickup, the ride out, the briefing and the trip back come on top, so plan on a longer outing than your time at the wheel. We confirm your pickup time on WhatsApp.
Where does the buggy tour run?
On the Lahbab red dunes, off the Dubai-Hatta Road (E44), about 50 minutes from central Dubai. Your confirmation names the desert base. The shared 4x4 picks you up anywhere in Dubai or Sharjah and brings you back, or you can drive there yourself. A buggy ride added to a safari runs in that safari's own desert instead.
Which buggy should I choose?
Start with seats: a 2-seat buggy for one or two of you, a 4-seat for three or four. Then pick the machine. The Can-Am Maverick X3 costs more than the Polaris RZR 1000, and both run on the same open desert.

Rather ride than drive?
Ride a quad bike instead, or let a driver handle the dunes on the evening or Lahbab safari. Both let you add a buggy ride when you book, and it then runs in that safari's own desert.
